November Beauty Empties: Will I Repurchase?

My November beauty empties. Read about what I used up this month and what I'll be repurchasing. Click to read.

Allure ran a story earlier this year about the internet's obsession with videos about empty beauty products. If you haven't seen one, these are You Tube videos in which beauty influencers show their empty beauty products and discuss why they liked or didn't like the products.

I'm addicted to empties videos. But why? Allure gave a few psychological theories as to why we like to use up our products and watch others talk about their empties (which you can read about here), but for me it is all about getting a good product review. I especially want to know whether or not the vlogger plans to repurchase their empties. If a product is deemed repurchase worthy, then I'm much more likely to give it a try.

Since I love empties videos so much, and since I happened to use up a bunch of products this month, I thought I would do an empties post. So here goes. My empties for the month of November are the following:

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum

Believe it or not, but this is the first retinol serum I have ever used. I was afraid of retinol products; I thought they'd be harsh or disagree with my sensitive skin, but I was wrong. I'm glad I tried it. Will I repurchase? No, but not because I had any difficulty with the Neutrogena product. I just want to try other Retinol products for comparison, so I have moved on to the Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum. We'll see how that goes.

Sisley Floral Toning Lotion

This toner, which is alcohol-free, is the only toner I've found that doesn't dry out my skin. I have combination skin - oily in the T-zone and drier everywhere else - and other toners strip my skin too much. This one is pricey but a bottle lasts a long time and my sensitive skin is worth it! Will I repurchase? Absolutely!

Clinique Take The Day Off Micellar Cleansing Towelettes

I jumped on the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm bandwagon (if you watch YouTube, you know what I mean) and used it for several months until I found this makeup-wipe version of the product. I love these wipes. They are gentle and great for removing both eye and face makeup, and I say this as someone who has extremely sensitive eyes. Will I repurchase? Yes, and I already have! I keep backups of these babies handy.

Skin Inc. Hyaluronic Acid Serum

I've been using this hyaluronic acid serum for about a month now as part of my anti-aging skincare regimen, and I have to say that it's a great addition. Skin Inc claims that the serum will "replenish and retain moisture for long-lasting hydration" and it definitely delivers. I use it along with Skin Inc's ceramide serum and a vitamin C serum (I'm currently using Jan Marini's C-Esta Face Serum). It's a great combination for anti-aging. Will I repurchase? Yes, but I may test other brands in the future and will let you know.

Sisley Creme Pour Le Cou Neck Cream

I purchased this neck cream quite a while ago, before I came to appreciate that there is really nothing special about the neck area that warrants its having a moisturizer all of its own. That said, I was determined to use up the product since I bought it...hence, it appears in this month's empties. Will I repurchase? No.

Lush Snowman Shower Jelly

I love Lush's products, but the Snowman Shower Jelly was one of the weirdest products I've used in a while. It's a non-solid soap that is the consistency of a very firm Jello. It is almost impossible to handle in the shower, and I felt like I was going to drop the thing the whole time I was using it. The smell, however, is wonderful, and you've got to love the description: "A wobbly good time with fruity buchu oil and nourishing carrot infusion." Will I repurchase? Probably not, but I'll definitely head back to Lush for another option.

Sisley Phyto Lip Twist Balm

I went through a Sisley phase and bought this pricey clear lip balm not too long ago. It is remarkable just how quickly I went through it. While it was a nice formula and kept my lips soft and smooth, it ultimately wasn't worth the price tag. Will I repurchase? No.

That's it! What products have you used up recently that you'll definitely repurchase?
