Do you know about Zosia? If you are over 40, you should! Zosia is a fantastic brand that I recently discovered - it's an online beauty and health resource created specifically for women over 40 that offers the latest news, tips, how-to's, videos, and products to help women look and feel the best we can, at the age we are. According to the Zosia website (and I love this quote), Zosia is for "confident women who embrace who they are and seek to live the best life they can, at any age."
I was thrilled to find Zosia, and it has been an invaluable resource for me. I was also thrilled to learn that Zosia now produces its own serum, the Power Boost Serum. For the past month, I've had the pleasure of using the Power Boost Serum and I'm happy to be able to review it here for my readers.
**Note: This is not a sponsored post and I purchased the Power Boost Serum myself.**
The Price:
The Power Boost Serum is a luxury product and sells for $89.00 for 1 fluid ounce. You can get a 10% discount off your first purchase if you sign up for Zosia's email list (which I did and you can do on the front page of their website).
The Claims and Usage:
According to Zosia's product description, the Power Boost Serum is "a targeted formula with a unique combination of laboratory tested plant stem cells and scientific actives, that you can use in multiple ways to boost your skin to fabulous. This luxurious, soft serum will quickly absorb into your skin to target the signs of aging, and leave skin soft, hydrated and glowing."
Zosia states that the Power Boost Serum can be used in multiple ways. It can be used alone at night after cleansing, after cleanser and before moisturizer, or by adding 2-3 drops of the serum to your moisturizer as a "boost."
Key Ingredients:
The ingredients are as follows: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract, Lecithin, Glucosamine HCl, Plankton Extract, Panthenol, Glycosaminoglycans, Lilium Candidum Leaf Cell Extract, Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-52, Passiflora Incarnata (Passionflower) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Extract, Leontopodium Alpinum Meristem Cell Culture, Cyperus Papyrus Leaf Cell Extract, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-37, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum.
My Testing Method:
I recently solidified my anti-aging skincare routine, which already includes three serums - a vitamin C serum, a ceramide serum, and a hyaluronic acid serum (for more on that, see this post). I'm happy with that combination and didn't want to replace any of my current serums, so I decided to incorporate the Power Boost Serum into my routine as a "boost" to my daytime moisturizer and evening night cream. I simply add 2-3 drops to my moisturizer and night cream, respectively. I have used the it in this manner for one month without altering any other part of my skincare routine, in order to get a fair test of the Power Boost Serum.
My Skin Type:
I have combination and sensitive 47-year-old skin. I am oily throughout the T-zone and drier on the rest of my face.
My Experience:
- From the first use of the Power Boost Serum, I noticed a difference in how my moisturizer behaved (remember, I am using the serum by adding 2-3 drops of it to my daily moisturizer and night cream). The serum added a softness and suppleness to my moisturizer and night cream that I could feel in my hands even before I applied it to my face.
- I noticed a difference in my skin after the first use of the Power Boost Serum. The serum makes my skin feel soft and super moisturized, but not greasy. A great combination!
- When I started using the Power Boost Serum, we were having a cold snap here in Houston and this is when my skin can become significantly drier and flaky in areas. But, using this serum I experienced none of that. My skin remained soft and smooth.
- The serum has no detectable fragrance to me and is non-irritating to my sensitive skin.
- Over the course of the month, the Power Boost Serum became a natural part of my skincare routine. I was initially afraid that I wouldn't be motivated to add another step to my skincare routine, but I found myself looking forward to using it to get the amazing benefits my skin received. It didn't add significant time to my routine - it was easy to just add a couple drops to my moisturizer/night cream and go!
I absolutely love the Power Boost Serum and it has become a permanent part of my skincare routine. I experienced no negative effects with it and my skin is softer and smoother than ever. This one is a keeper and I recommend it! I look forward to this brand's future products (look for more beauty products as well as collections for body, health and lifestyle as well) and you should, too!
