Workhorse Beauty Products I Use All The Time

Beauty products I use all the time but tend to take for granted. They are the well-used but unsung heroes of my beauty routine. Click to read.

In everyone's beauty routine, there are those products that we use all the time but take for granted. These are the products that are always there and are very important to our beauty routines, but we seldom talk about them or see them featured in monthly favorite posts. In this post, I decided to focus on some of those "workhorse" products from my routine and give them the love they deserve.

JANE IREDALE MINERAL PRESSED POWDER

If there is one beauty product that I can't live without, it's Jane Iredale's pressed mineral powder in the color Warm Silk. This is the one makeup item I carried with me when I evacuated my home during the Hurricane Harvey flooding (for more on that, see this post). It is my go-to foundation on no-makeup makeup days, and I can always rely on it to make me look put together when I'm not...well...put together.

TOO FACED HANGOVER REPLENISHING FACE PRIMER

I own a lot of face primers, but the Too Faced Hangover primer is the one I most often reach for. I think it is one of the best primers for mature skin, and I know I can rely on it to hydrate my skin (especially important in the winter, when my skin tends to be drier) without feeling slick or greasy. Plus, the subtle coconut smell is the best!

BLISTEX MEDICATED LIP OINTMENT

I have no idea how many tubes of this lip ointment I have gone through over the years, but I use this product constantly. I use it mainly overnight to keep my lips soft and hydrated, and I never wake up with chapped lips!

ELIZABETH ARDEN EIGHT-HOUR CREAM SKIN PROTECTANT

I love Elizabeth Arden's Eight-Hour Skin Protectant. It takes some getting used to due to the medicine-y smell, but I promise you that once you fall for this product, you'll never want to be without it. I use it on my dry elbows and lips (it moisturizes as well as provides a beautiful pink shine that people have mistaken for lip gloss).

COL-LAB MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER

I'm not wedded to one brand of micellar water right now, but most recently I've been using COL-LAB's version, which is working perfectly for me as an eye makeup remover. I use it every night! If you aren't familiar with  COL-LAB, it's a makeup line created by eight beauty influencers and sold exclusively here at sallybeauty.com.

CHANEL ROUGE COCO BAUME HYDRATING CONDITIONING LIP BALM

I use this wonderful CHANEL lip balm as a lipstick primer. It provides an ultra smooth but non-greasy layer of moisture over the lips that makes lipliner and lipstick glide on perfectly. I keep one in my purse at all times!

  1. I'll have to have a closer look at the Chanel lip balm, I was not even aware of it. In terms of my 'can't live without item', I'd have to say is the Dior addict balm and le volume de chanel mascara..both pull my face together in a snap..

    1. Hi there, and thanks for the comment! That CHANEL le volume de CHANEL mascara is my favorite. I absolutely love it and it never flakes or migrates on me at all. I will have to check out the Dior Addict balm - thanks! :)

  2. The Too-faced hangover primer has been on my list to buy for a while, just haven't got around it! Sounds really nice though!

    1. Hi Sophie! I really like the way my skin feels when I use the Too Faced Hangover Primer - nice and soft and primed but not at all greasy. A good combo! :)
