So, what's in my makeup bag and what am I currently carrying with me as I dash around the suburbs of Houston? Drumroll...
Mirror
I love my CHANEL Mirror Duo. It is super sleek and has a regular mirror on one side and a close-up mirror on the other side. Unlike many purse mirrors, this one is nice and thin and also fits well into a clutch. Plus, it just feels luxurious to whip a CHANEL mirror out of your bag.
Blotting Papers
Blotting papers go everywhere with me, especially in the summer when I tend to be oilier and need more frequent touch-ups. I like the Sephora Collection Blotting Papers because they are economical and smell good. They come in four scents, Herbal Rose (which I'm currently using), Calming Natural Tea Tree, Bamboo Charcoal, and Cooling Mint.
Blotting papers are only part of the process! Of course, you need a good powder for those touch-up moments. I'm currently using Inglot's AMC Setting Powder, which is a nice talc-free translucent powder that is great for patting on my T-zone after blotting. I prefer a translucent powder that doesn't add color on top of my foundation, but that's a personal preference.
Mini Brush
And what do I use to apply my setting powder on the go? A no-name mini powder brush that I've had for years and that has traveled the nation with me. I can't at all remember where I got it, and honestly I'm about to retire it from my cosmetics bag. The leading contender for a replacement brush is the Fenty Beauty Portable Touchup Brush. A cool feature of this brush is that it has a magnetic panel and snaps right into the back of the Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder. I haven't tried the Fenty powder, but it has recieved great reviews elsewhere and I'm tempted. This brush-powder combo might be a good option if you are looking to update both your brush and powder situation.
Lip Gloss
I always keep at least one lip gloss in my bag at all times. Right now (and speaking of Fenty Beauty) it's the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer. I was intrigued by this lip gloss early on, but I was skeptical because when things are described as "universal," they tend to be too dark and/or warm for me. But it has worked beautifully on me, and so far it has worked for me on-the-go, over whatever lipstick I'm wearing. It smells good, too!
Lip Balm
If you've read read some of my other blog posts (like this one), you know that I love CHANEL's Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm and am rarely without one. This iconic balm goes everywhere with me and is never absent from my cosmetics bag. It is essential as a base for lip touch-ups and I highly recommend it!
That's it! I hope you enjoyed this peek into my makeup bag and the beauty items I'm currently carrying with me! What beauty items are you always sure to have with you when you're on the go?
