Empties, empties, empties. It's that time again for beauty empties. For some reason, I used up quite a few beauty products this month, and this time it's more than just empty makeup and skincare containers. For the first time, I've included haircare as well!
So, what did I use up this month and what will and won't I be repurchasing?
First up, bath items...
Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion - I wish I was the kind of person who religiously used a body moisturizer straight out of the shower every day, but I'm not. I've even tried buying fancy, fun moisturizers, thinking it will spur me to use them, but no. So, I tried Nivea's In-Shower Body Lotion, even though I was a bit skeptical about whether any moisture would actually endure after rinsing and toweling dry in the shower. I'm happy to report that it works well, and I recommend it for anyone who wants a quick, easy way to moisturize. Can I say that it's as effective as using an actual body moisturizer after showering? No, but it's nothing to sneeze at, either. Will I repurchase? Yes! I've been through a few of these babies already, and I will continue to buy them!
Next up, haircare items...
Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner by OGX - If you are looking for a rich conditioner to keep your hair in tip top shape, then OGX's Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner is a good, affordable option. I tried this conditioner after Hurricane Harvey, when I had to buy some conditioner at the drugstore and couldn't get my hands on my regular high-end conditioner. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not as fond of the corresponding Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo, but the conditioner is pretty good stuff! Will I repurchase? I might, although I'm currently back to my regular conditioner, Shu Uemura's Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Conditioner, which I also recommend if your hair is on the fragile side.
Shu Uemura Satin Design Polishing Blow Dry Lotion - If you have fine and delicate hair like me, you need both a good product for blow drying and to tame fly-aways. Shu Uemura's Satin Design Polishing Blow Dry Lotion takes on both tasks beautifully. It was first recommended to me by my hair stylist, Greg, at Azur West Salon here in Houston, and I've been using it ever since. Be careful, though. A little of this product goes a long way! Will I repurchase? Oh yes, this one's a winner and keeps my hair protected during blow drying as well as soft and smooth all day!
Sisley Moisturizer With Cucumber - Sisley has great moisturizers, and its Moisturizer With Cucumber is no exception. I used it as a night cream and it performed beautifully. It smells great, too. Will I repurchase? Not any time soon, but that's not because I don't like this moisturizer. It's a great product; I just happen to have found a much more affordable night cream option - CeraVe's Skin Renewing Night Cream (for a full review of this product, go here).
Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray in Cucumber - I purchased this mini-sized spray to try it before committing to a full size, and I'm glad I did. It sets my makeup well and smells great! Will I repurchase? Yes! I think next time I'll try another of its scents - maybe the Rose or the Peach!
Sisley Eau Efficace Gentle Makeup Remover - This is a 3-in-one product, marketed to remove makeup (eye and lip), cleanse, and tone. I used it as an eye makeup remover, and it performed well, removing every trace of eye makeup and waterproof mascara from my eyes. My problem with the product is that it irritated my extremely sensitive eyes, so I ended up using it just as a face makeup remover before cleansing. Will I repurchase? Nope! I have had much better experiences with WAY cheaper micellar waters that don't irritate my eyes, so I'm going to stick with them!
That's it for my March Beauty Empties! What was your favorite product that you used up this month? Let me know in the comments!
