Happy New Year! Tis the season to reflect on 2017 and look ahead to the upcoming year. As I explained in my Thanksgiving post, I had a lot to be grateful for in 2017. I'm looking forward to 2018, especially with respect to this blog. I've been loving this blog and hope you do, too.
But with respect to the new year, I do have some beauty resolutions. Here goes...
1. Perfect my anti-aging skincare regimen.
I didn't really get into so-called anti-aging skincare products until this past year, and already my skin is better for it. Since I added hyaluronic acid along with retinol, vitamin c, and ceramide serums into my routine, my skin has been more radiant and soft, and I've received more compliments on my skin than ever before. I'm still experimenting with products and trying to find the right brands and formulas for me. I'll definitely update you when I've found a routine that suits me!
2. Take more baths.
I know how soothing and relaxing a good bath can be, especially if you up the relaxation factor by adding a Lush Bath Bomb, but I rarely take the time to have one. I love Lush bath bombs. I'm going to use more Lush products in 2018, period.
3. Actually use my eyelash curler.
During the last Sephora VIB sale, I purchased a shiny new eyelash curler with every intention of using it regularly, but no. It just sits there on my makeup table. This year, I'm going to force myself to use it, because it really does make a difference in how my lashes look.
4. Actually use my teeth whitener.
In 2017, I joined the "White For Life" program offered by Made Ya Smile, my local dentist office. It's great. For a one-time fee, you get teeth whitener forever, so long as you show up to your 6-month dental checkups. The only problem for me is that I don't use my whitener often enough. It just sits in my drawer. No more. This year, I'm actually going to use it on a regular basis!
5. Drink more water.
This one is probably on everyone's New Year resolutions list, and for good reason. Good skincare starts with good hydration from within.
6. Break out of my comfort zone with eyeshadows.
I'm one for neutral, natural-looking, cool-toned eyeshadow looks. But in late 2017 two things happened: (1) I bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette full of pinks and warm colors, and (2) Inglot sent me two freebie eyeshadows with purchase - both blues. I'm determined to use these colors regularly in 2018. Granted, I probably won't create wildly vibrant and saturated looks with them, but I am going to use them in my own way. Stay tuned.
