My favorite e.l.f. brushes - great, affordable makeup brushes. Read about my (unsponsored) picks. Click to read.

Does your makeup brush collection need an update? Are you itching for some new brushes but don't want to spend a fortune? Well, you certainly could spend a fortune; higher-end brushes can cost upwards of $20 apiece. The good news is that you don't have to spend a lot on brushes. There are definitely some affordable options out there.

One great affordable option is elf, which offers good quality brushes at an affordable price. In fact, if you are looking to do a brush overhaul without breaking the bank, you might consider this brand.

Let's take a look at the elf brushes I recommend if you're looking to overhaul your brush situation.

Eyeshadow "C" Brush, Angled Shadow Brush, Crease Brush, Fluffy Eye Blender Brush
We'll start with eye brushes. While there are several options in the elf collection, I recommend four essential eye brushes in this range. First, there is the eyeshadow "C' brush ($3.00), which is perfect for packing shadow on the lid. The angled shadow brush ($3.00) is one of my personal favorites for applying dark eyeshadow to the lashline in lieu of eyeliner (see this post for more on that). Finally, the crease brush ($3.00) and fluffy eye blender brush ($3.00) would round out a complete eye collection.

Pointed Powder Brush, Contouring Brush, Selfie-Ready Foundation Brush, Cheek Cream & Powder Brush, Highlighting Brush
Now, onto face brushes. The selfie ready foundation brush ($6.00) will blend out your foundation flawlessly, then the pointed powder brush ($6.00) will do double duty, setting your undereye concealer as well as powder your entire face. Finish off your look with the contouring brush ($6.00) to carve out your cheeks, the cheek cream and powder brush ($6.00) to apply blush, and the higlighting brush ($3.00) for applying highlighter.

The total cost for all these brushes? $39.00. You can't beat that!
